Q. Describe your perfect night out?
A. A group of my closest friends, lots of dancing and then back to mine for a
chill-out!
Q. Describe your perfect night in?
A. Pizza, a bottle of wine and a marathon of 'Friends' or ‘Will & Grace’.
Q. Who would you say are your influences?
A. Musically, I would say Burt Bacharach. His incredible repertoire has inspired
me to bring a touch of jazz into my songs.
Q. What inspires you to write songs?
A. Well, my family always joke that they can tell when something is up because I
suddenly start writing when everything is going wrong. I suppose there is an
element of truth in that. When I feel down about things I always turn to music
so yeah, there are a lot of my lyrics that people will associate with things
going wrong but also, I think a lot about growing up and how I expected life
to be as an adult and how it has actually turned out - sometimes better,
sometimes worse.
Q. What do you hope to achieve in your music career?
A. Well I'll try my best to avoid the clichés here! I guess when you find
something that you just enjoy doing so much, it would be great to be able to
do it for a living and I love sharing my music with people. I do believe I have
something to say and I guess I'll keep going til people get tired of listening to
me! - which I hope is not for a while yet. |
